Pro-Occupation
The performance was realized by the Italian artist Matlakas during the first edition of our festival for the solidarity of Palestine. With this performance, an olive tree was planted in the heart of Pompei dedicated to the people of Palestine. Through the ritual, the artist held the tree like a newborn baby aiming to connect with the pain of Palestinian people, representing an artistic action of Pro – Occupation, and reclamation of the Palestinian land, a symbol of the daily injustice that the population of Palestine has to face every day.
La performance è stata realizzata dall'artista italiano Matlakas durante la prima edizione del nostro festival per la solidarietà della Palestina. Con questa performance è stato piantato nel cuore di Pompei un ulivo dedicato al popolo palestinese. Attraverso il rituale, l'artista ha tenuto l'albero come un neonato con l'obiettivo di connettersi con il dolore del popolo palestinese, rappresentando un'azione artistica di Pro-Occupazione e bonifica della terra palestinese, simbolo dell'ingiustizia quotidiana che la popolazione palestinese deve affrontare ogni giorno.
