The Cian Collective is a group of visual artists, cultural
managers, designers, museologists, philosophers, among other professions, who
collaborate on different creative projects. The founders of the creative
platform are originally from Santiago de Chile, but also have members from
Europe who joined their movement. The projects they carry out, focus on
environmental and sustainability issues, as well as, issues of cultural
identity. The team creates the sculptures and installations entirely out of
recycled materials, from ice sculptures to steel and iron installations, but
mainly focuses on plastic waste and projects that aim to raise awareness of the
impact of plastic, using plastic sculptures, such as a big wave of plastic, and
various marine animals that are endangered due to the immense quantities of
plastic found in the seas and oceans. The art pieces reflect the destruction
caused by plastic waste and its long-term negative impact on nature, animals,
and humanity.
